I am personally obsessed with watching cooking videos. Today, I want to recommend you guys this extremely relaxing and calming youtube channel called Peaceful Cuisine that I sometimes binge watch.
Most cooking tutorials are very talkative and hyper-energetic, often they stimulate a lot of excitement. Peaceful Cuisine, on the other hand, makes aesthetically pleasing and beautiful videos paired with gentle background music. No one talks, that way we can hear the soothing sound from the food-making in a vacuum, for example, the crisp sound when the spoon touches the jar.
There are two options for all the recipe videos, we could choose either with or without music. The ones without any background music are black-and-white.
Vegan Lemon Curd Tart:
Vegan and Gluten-free Orange Mocha Scones:
This kind of videos also qualifies as ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) videos, which represent an experience with a tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine, providing us with a pleasurable feeling of relaxation and calm.
However, among all the ASMR cooking shows. Peaceful Cuisine’s founder, Ryoya Takashima, also shares a message through all his cooking videos, that is to decrease animal-based product consumption to reduce carbon footprints. He is a strict vegan, and all his recipes are also gluten-free-friendly. He uses himself as an example to show people how to adopt a vegan lifestyle and his philosophy that “World peace through the food choices we make.” It is not easy to change from a normal diet to a vegan or any other diet, but why not check out his website or his Youtube channel. Maybe we would be inspired and make a change to how we consume food.
